It’s a Merlin Christmas, and Emrys Claus is coming to town!
He sees you when you’re sleeping
He speaks inside your head
He gives you handy plot-hints
So you shoot straight up in bed…

A little pictorial tribute to my favourite Christmassy film, The Bishop’s Wife (1947), which stars Cary Grant, David Niven and Loretta Young. It may not be as famous as other seasonally themed movies, but it’s just as delightful. If you’ve never heard of it before, here’s a review by me.
Here’s a little bit of my fandom history. Back in the late 1990s, I was a big fan of The X-Files (wasn’t everyone in those days?), and I made these Mulder and Scully toys to go on top of the Christmas tree. My interest in the show faded long ago, but I’ve kept them for their sentimental value! Retrospectively, I do wonder why I didn’t give Scully shorter hair, but such are the regrets of fandoms past…
A very Merlin Christmas to all my friends and followers! May the BBC elves bring us all the yummy things that we deserve!

Ideal present for girls: a broom. Ideal present for boys: a broom. It’s equal opportunities tedium for all!
Joan Collins versus a murderous Santa in Tales from the Crypt (1972).
Goodness me, it’s December already. Maybe it’s time for me to stop hiding in terror from all things Christmassy…
